MVGR 25 Years Silver Jubilee Celebrations started on a high note

Established in 1997, Maharaj Vijayaram Gajapathi Raj College of Engineering (MVGR), Autonomous. completed 25 glorious years and organizing silver jubilee celebrations for two days starting from Friday. For the inaugural function of these celebrations, MANSAS chairman, Sri Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Prof. GSN Raju, Vice chancellor, Centurion university, AP were invited as chief guests.

Later, chief guests inaugurated MVGR 25 years journey photo exhibition & expo at college premises, DEWATS system and 50 kWP roof top solar power at MVGR boy’s hostel. Principal, Dr. KVL Raju garu conducted Governing Body Meeting on this occasion by inviting all the current and past GB members of MVGR.

In the afternoon session, HR CONCLAVE was conducted by inviting the people from top MNC companies like TCS, Tech Mahindra, Medha, etc.

Dr. Sunil Prakash, Dean – Placements thanked the guests from industry coming over for silver jubilee celebrations. He stated that without the role of industrial connectivity and support, institutional won’t able to grow this far and achieve more success in placements. He explained the theme of HRs conclave – “Expectations of industry from freshers and current industry trends” to the students.

Mr. P Appala Raju, HR Manager, Medha Servo Drives Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad stated that students should always think globally, not locally and should have global capabilities. The qualities of students like communication skills, patience, attitude, adaptability, team building and leading skills are required for the company to hire the students. Recruitment panel expected from the students that they should know the company profile, job profile, basic subject knowledge, and ready to learn while working.

Mr. Karthik Abhirama Krishna, Talent Acquisition Group, TCS, Hyderabad congratulated MVGR for successful completion of glorious 25 years of journey and told the students were lucky to be a part and studying here. He continued by saying that MVGR is one of the best colleges because the management gives immense support to the students and faculty. He stressed that students should take a wise and correct decision in choosing their career paths and once chosen they should work with commitment for at least 5 to 6 years in the same company to learn and gain experience. Problem solving skills, IT coding skills, analytical and logical skills are very much needed for todays increasing industrial growth. He advised students to remove inhibition and maintain good attitude to lead a successful life in IT industry.

Mr. Ravichandra K, Asst. Vice President, Delivery Head-India Govt Business, Tech Mahindar, Visakhapatnam, advised students to get placed in any company one should know about the company, job profiles, company current and past projects, awards, employees and their culture and always give and show respect towards institution/organization. Irrespective of gender, companies require talent and expect strong fundamentals. Mostly students were rejected in interviews for lack of discipline since they are now in tremendous influence of social media. Blend of knowledge and diversified fields are very much required for any company and students must unlearn and learn to lead a successful career.

Later, chief guest took questions and doubts related to industry expectations from students and clarified those. All 3rd year students participated actively for this session.
