AICTE SPONSORED 6-DAY ATAL FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM at MVGR CIVIL DEPARTMENT

Department of Civil Engineering, MVGR College of Engineering (A), Vizianagaram is organizing 6-day ATAL FDP program sponsored by AICTE on SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS AND CONSTRUCTION PRACTICES: Current practices and future trends.

Inaugural function of this 6-day ATAL FDP program held on Monday with Dr. KVL Subramaniam, Professor, IIT Hyderabad attended as chief guest.

Addressing the gathering, KVL Subramaniam said, in navigating India's economic growth, the discourse on "Sustainability and Net-Zero Considerations in Construction" is pivotal. This dialogue urges a transformative shift toward eco-friendly construction technologies, recognizing the symbiosis between economic progress and environmental stewardship. Prioritizing carbon neutrality and reducing embodied energy in construction materials becomes not only an environmental imperative but a strategic move for economic resilience. This inaugural discussion signifies a commitment to innovative, collaborative, and sustainable practices, emphasizing a future where India's prosperity is intricately linked with responsible development and ecological balance.

Prof. Brajesh Dubey, IIT Kharagpur; Prof. N S Mohammad, IIT Bombay; Prof. S Shankar, NIT Warangal; Prof. S Suriya Prakash, IIT Hyderabad; Er. Dasam Kishore Kumar, L&T Chennai are also invited to deliver lectures on this 6-day FDP program.

About 30 faculty participants and research scholars from Central Polytechnic College Trivandrum, Met's Institute of Engineering (Nashik); JNTUGV (VZM); AITAM (Tekkali); DIET (Anakapalli); DNR (VSKP), GVPCOE (VSKP), VR Siddhartha Engineering College (Guntur); Vignan Institute of Engineering and Technology (VSKP) participated in this event.
