MVGR Achieves Record-Breaking Success in GATE-2025 with 62 All India Ranks
Vizianagaram, March 20, 2025:
MVGR College of Engineering has once again proven its academic excellence with an outstanding performance in GATE-2025, the prestigious national-level postgraduate engineering entrance exam conducted by IIT-Roorkee. The results, announced on March 19, 2025, brought cheer across the campus as MVGR students secured a record 62 All India Ranks, including 10 ranks under 1000.
Students from multiple departments showcased their talent and hard work. The department-wise distribution of achievers includes ECE (18), Chemical Engineering (10), CSE (10), Mechanical Engineering (9), Data Engineering (6), Civil Engineering (4), EEE (3), and IE & CT (2) — a testament to the widespread academic strength of the institution.
Among the top achievers is N.T. Manikatha, a final-year student from the Mechanical Engineering department, who secured AIR-60 in Engineering Sciences (XE) and AIR-281 in Mechanical Engineering (ME). His exceptional performance across two disciplines highlights his dedication and versatility.
Another proud moment for the college came from Andavarapu Rakesh of the ECE department, who achieved AIR-75 in Electronics and Communication Engineering (EC). Rakesh had previously secured AIR-11 in GATE-2024 during his final year at MVGR, reflecting his consistent academic brilliance.
Prof. P. S. Sitharama Raju, Director, and Prof. Ramakrishnan Ramesh, Principal of MVGR, congratulated all the rank holders and expressed pride in the college's continuous success in national-level exams. They emphasized that the college’s academic freedom, strong mentoring, extensive library facilities, modern infrastructure, and continuous faculty support — plays a crucial role in enabling students to excel.
Prof. N. Ravi Kumar, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, specifically congratulated Manikatha and other rankers from the department. He highlighted the department’s role in providing comprehensive GATE materials and personalized guidance from experienced faculty.
Speaking about his preparation, Manikatha attributed his success to focused study hours, especially in the library, and to MVGR’s five-day class schedule, which gave him sufficient time on weekends to intensify his preparation. He acknowledged the support he received from faculty members throughout his journey.
Many of the rankers are now expected to secure admissions into premier institutions like IITs and NITs, or land prestigious positions in PSUs and central government organizations.
MVGR continues to stand out not only for offering excellent placement opportunities to its final-year students but also for nurturing talent that excels in competitive exams like GATE. With consistent achievements year after year, MVGR has firmly established itself as a center of academic excellence and career readiness.
