Transportation

OBJECTIVES:

    1. To provide a Safe and Comfortable service to students and faculty.
    2. To facilitate students to visit industries, outreach programs, NCC/NSS activities.
    3. To provide an efficient operation of schedules.
Considering the need to provide comfortable and safe transport to the students & staff, MVGR is operating non-profitable basis, a fleet of 25 buses (Ashok Leyland with express seating) from various areas of Visakhapatnam (Kurmannapalem, Gajuwaka, Scindia, Purnamarket, MVP colony, Seetammadhara, Dwarakanagar, Pendurthy, Simhachalam), Srikakulam, Bobbili, Saluru, Kothavalasa, L Kota, S Kota, Cheepurupalli, and Vizianagaram, etc., in the city and terminate in the institute campus. The buses are filled to exact sitting capacity only and no standing is allowed.  Separate bus facility for all the first year students is an added advantage for the new learners. Everyday students reach their destination safely by availing the facility. The bus in-chargers (Staff and students) would closely work with the transport convener for the students’ comfortable journey. In- addition, the convener addresses to any special requests or concerns related to transportation. In addition, there are a large number of APSRTC city and route buses which touch Aynada Junction (@MVGR) bus stop on the National Highway, which is just 1 km away from the Institute. A staff member can be assigned from each department as a transport member and he/she will look into the issues/suggestions/schedules in their respective departments.

Roles & Responsibilities of Convener

  1. Overall administration of transport facility.
  2. Preparation of bus routes on demand.
  3. Allotments of students and staff in the buses as per the capacity
  4. Allotment of duties to committee members, and bus in –charges
  5. Organizing meetings with committee members and student in- charges,  forwarded to the authorities
  6. Monitoring the bus fee collection and payments/other mandatory expenditures,
  7. Providing the Transport Statistics to account/ audit section
  8. Monitoring general discipline & grievances in buses, forwarded to authorities in time to time.
  9. Updating information is relating to RTA/Insurances/ Tax and other
  10. Monitoring and operating buses for the general/examinations schedules

11   Monitoring the duties of drivers and supervisors

12   Monitoring the maintenance of buses

13   Arranging the buses for industrial visits, extra classes, NSS/NCC activities etc.,

Roles & Responsibilities of Members and Bus in-charges

  1. Monitoring Discipline of students in buses
  2. Informing students various transport updating, Forwarding the grievances of students
  3. He has to address transport related issues from the department to the convener.

Roles & Responsibilities of Student in-charges

  1. To share buses information and schedules to all students travelling in buses
  2. To collect feedback or suggestions from the students to be make use of transport services in a better way
  1. To bring bus related issues like breakdowns, windows breakages, water leaking especially in the rainy reason, fast moving or late coming type bus running information or any other to the notice of Staff In-charges or to the Convener ( in the absence of Staff In-charges).
  2. He has to informing unwanted issues like  accidents, ragging, commenting, loss of belongings  or any other misbehavior  to the notice of Staff In-charges or to the convener  (in the absence of Staff In-charges).
