MVGR Successfully Completes 5-Day Online FDP on THE ROLE OF AI IN MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIES.

Vizianagaram, October 31, 2025 – Maharaj Vijayaram Gajapathi Raj College of Engineering (MVGR) successfully concluded its Five-Day Online Faculty Development Program (FDP) on "The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Manufacturing Industries," held from October 27 to October 31, 2025. The program, jointly organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Department of Data Engineering, aimed at providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of the latest advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) within the manufacturing sector.
The FDP witnessed active participation from over 300 faculty members, researchers, postgraduate students, and industry professionals, who engaged in a range of sessions designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industrial practices. Participants gained valuable insights on key topics such as deep learning, additive manufacturing, supercritical boilers, and the application of AI in manufacturing industries.
In his valedictory address, Mr. Potnuru Sunil Kumar, Staff Engineer at Kenvue, USA, emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing the growing role of AI in manufacturing industries. He commended both the resource persons and participants for their commitment to making the program a success and highlighted the potential of AI in transforming industrial practices.
Dr. Y M C, Principal of MVGR, expressed his gratitude to the resource persons, participants, and the organizing team for their collective efforts in ensuring the program's success. He reaffirmed MVGR’s commitment to advancing research and education in AI, particularly its applications in manufacturing, and fostering collaborations between academia and industry. Dr. P. Sateesh further emphasized the importance of AI and extended thanks to the participants for their active engagement throughout the program.
Dr. B. Srinivas and Dr. Ravi Kumar, FDP Coordinators, concluded the session by thanking all participants and speakers, acknowledging their contribution to making the event a success. Also, extended his special thanks to all the Co-coordinators Dr P Srinivasa Rao, Mr G Rajesh, Dr G Pramod Kumar, Mr D Santosh Kumar and Mr T Govinda Rao for all their efforts.
