MVGR College of Engineering Celebrates 79th Independence Day with Patriotic Fervor
MVGR College of Engineering commemorated the 79th Independence Day of India on 15th August 2025 with patriotic zeal and dignity on the college campus. The celebration commenced with the soulful rendition of Vande Mataram, setting an inspiring tone for the occasion.
The National Flag was hoisted by the Principal, Prof. Y. M. C. Sekhar, followed by the gathering paying homage through the National Anthem. The ceremonial parade was presented by the NCC Senior Division (SD) and Senior Wing (SW) cadets, accompanied by the CLAD contingent, symbolizing discipline and national pride.
Prof. Y. M. C. Sekhar then addressed the gathering, emphasizing the significance of independence, unity, and the pivotal role of youth in nation-building. His insightful message inspired everyone to uphold the values of freedom, responsibility, and progress.
As part of the celebrations, certificates were awarded to NSS volunteers and prize winners in recognition of their contributions and achievements. The following awards were distributed by Prof. Y. M. C. Sekhar, Principal

Second Place: The Age of AI: Impact on Society, Education, and Employment
By Aga Naveed Abbas (ECE). A well-structured, balanced, and accessible overview highlighting both opportunities and challenges of AI in everyday life.
The cultural segment of the program featured patriotic songs and dance performances by the MVGR Dance Club, showcasing the artistic talents of students while evoking a sense of national pride.
The celebration concluded with a Vote of Thanks, followed by the dignified rendition of the National Anthem, Jana Gana Mana, bringing the program to a close with reverence and unity.
