Inspiring Minds through Mathematics: Guest Lecture Marks National Mathematics Day

As part of the National Mathematics Day (NMD) celebrations, Maharajah’s College (Autonomous) organized an insightful guest lecture on 22 December 2025, aimed at highlighting the importance of mathematics in academics and career development.
The lecture was delivered by Dr. B. M. B. Krushna, Associate Professor of Mathematics and Head of the Department of Science and Humanities, who served as the Resource Person for the programme. He spoke on the theme “Mathematics: Meaning, Importance, and Its Role in Career and Competitive Examinations.”
In his address, Dr. Krushna emphasized the fundamental role of mathematics in nurturing analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and career readiness. His lucid explanation of core concepts, supported by real-life examples and practical insights, made the session engaging and intellectually stimulating. The lecture effectively brought out the relevance of mathematics in higher education, competitive examinations, and professional growth.
The session received an enthusiastic response from both students and faculty members, who found it highly motivating and enriching. Dr. Krushna’s contribution added significant academic value to the National Mathematics Day celebrations and reflected the institution’s continued commitment to promoting mathematical awareness and academic excellence.
The event was attended by Prof. M. Sambasiva Rao, Principal of Maharajah’s College, Mr. C. S. K. Uma Shankar, Head of the Department of Mathematics, along with other faculty members, who appreciated Dr. Krushna’s efforts and valuable insights. As part of the programme, mementos and certificates were presented to the winners by Dr. Krushna.
