NSS – MVGR in collaboration with RTA, Vizianagaram has conducted an  awareness program on Road Safety with the caption “SADAK SURAKSHA – JEEVAN RAKSHA”.

Mr. Buchi Raju, Motor Vehicle Inspector, has attended the session as resource person.  Speaking on the occasion the Resource Person has emphasized the need of self-discipline to abide by any rules and regulations stipulated by government.  He said that it is every citizen’s responsibility to bring down the accident occurrence rate to zero percent. 

He also informed the students that government has introduced ‘Good Samaritan Award’ to the people who saves the life of a victim of any road accident.   If more than one 'Good Samaritan' saves the life of more than one victim of an accident, then they will be given a cash award of Rs. 5,000 per victim saved subject to a maximum award of Rs. 5,000 per 'Good Samaritan'. Further, an individual 'Good Samaritan' can be awarded a maximum of five times in a year.

He has created awareness among the students about the traffic rules and the new guidelines introduced by the Government.  Youth must be inspired and spread the slogan “Love-30” (Vehicle Speed Limit be 30 kmph) for road users’ safety.Dean of Students S. Mohan Kumar, NSS Program Officer N. Shanmukha Rao, College staff and Students were participated in the program.
